The basketball unit is coming to an end. Although no other schools have a grade four team, the girls did manage to particpate in an intersquad. They defended hard and scored lots of baskets. Well done girls!
Throughout the second term, we have enjoyed many opportunities to learn about First Nations in British Columbia and Canada. We felt fortunate to be able to learn from Leslie McGarry, who delivers a wonderful program through the Victoria Native Friendship Association. She visited us at school, where we made potlatch pouches and toured us around the Royal BC Museum where she shared stories of her ancestors and family. It was a great experience to see our work published into a book which we will keep forever. With the 4H class, we celebrated our book launch by toasting each other and our 'editor' Ms. Rachel Boult. We also enjoyed 'mingling' with one another and talking about what it feels like to be a published author. Our final book respresents so many steps in our learning about animals, their habitats and adaptations and the process of publishing. |
